Talakudong Festival [September 18]. Also dubbed as the festival of hats, Talakudong Festival is a historical and cultural spectacle.
It features the talakudong or kudong, a native head covering worn by the early settlers of the area and are still worn mostly by farmers in this present time.
The festival is highlighted by street-dancing and field demonstrations that showcase the history of Tacurong from being a barrio of Buluan, Cotabato into a multi-cultural municipality of Sultan Kudarat and eventually into a progressive city. The dances are accompanied by the sound of bamboos and drums.
