Cotabato City, officially the City of Cotabato is an independent component city in the Philippine autonomous region of Bangsamoro.
According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 299,438. Cotabato City is formerly part and the regional center of Region XII.

HOW TO GET THERE
Cotabato City accessible through Awang Airport.
There are at least 4 flights (1 PAL and 3 Cebu Pac) flying daily for Manila-Cotabato City-Manila
and every Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday flying for Cotabato-Cebu-Cotabato.
Taxis are available but tricycle and jeepneys are the mode of transportation when roaming around Cotabato City.
Provincial buses and vans are available connecting the city to neighboring provinces/regions such as Tacurong, Koronadal, General Santos City, Kidapawan City, North and South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and Davao.

Every December
Shariff Kabunsuan Festival
The celebration is centered on the arrival of Shariff Kabunsuan via Rio Grande de Mindanao more than 500 years ago to introduce Islam to the natives.
This annual event not only celebrates the city’s rich heritage but it also honors traditions of the Muslims and indigenous people.
Highlighted events are the colorful fluvial parade, a street dancing parade and competition, cultural shows, “inaul” (Muslim fabric) fashion show, culinary competition, and many others.
